"...And that class, is the story of Shakeksphere's famous 'A Mid Summer Night’s Dream'." The drama teacher finished. The bell rang. "Now students, the purple worksheet we started today is homework and will be due tomorrow. I suggest that you get a partner to finish it." the teacher said as the students got up to leave the classroom.
"Phew! Glad that's over." Joey walked over to Drake who was picking up his binder to leave.
"Yeah, but I think it will be fun when we get to perform that play." Drake said.
"Not for me. I hate performing anything. You're the musical geek." Joey laughed.
"Hey, 'A Mid Summer Night’s Dream' is a classic play, not a musical. And musical's are not for geeks!" Drake stopped Joey.
"Well excuuuuuuse me." Joey rolled his eyes. "So what part do you want to try out for?"
"I'm not sure yet... Oooooo who do we have here?" Drake walked up by Aloni's side. "Hey!" he smiled to her.
Aloni smiled. Hoping that she didn't blush. "Hey. You excited for the play?" She asked. "I am. But I don't know who to try out for..." he's talking to me, ME of all people! He's talking to me...sighhhhhhh. Then, finally noticing the heart she drew, she smoothly hid it with her hand. She got out of her seat and piled her books on one another, her doodle in-between the books and binder.
Drake shrugged "I haven't decided yet. You know if you wanna try out?" Drake asked. As Aloni stood up, she dropped a paper. He bent down and retrieved it for her. "You dropped this."
Aloni bit her lip. "Uh, thanks." She grabbed it quickly and shoved it crinkled in her binder. "Anyway, I know I want to audition. I just don't know what part I want."
Drake nodded "I think you would make a good Hermia, with two guys after you. You'd be very good at that role." Drake noted, "You're probably already used to guys after you in real life though."
"I know that Drake's had that situation with all the ladies here." Joey butted in.
"Shut up." Drake and Joey started to play fight.
"Oh thanks..." Aloni said, thinking. Really, she never had THAT many guys after her...Many guys talk to her a lot though...Aloni smiled when Joey said that.
"Hey boys! Ok what we getting for lunch?" Jade stood in between Drake and Joey and put her arms around them. Joey went red.
"We?"
"Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that I'm eating with lunch with Jade today. And you're coming with me." Drake put his arm around her.
"You wouldn't mind would you?" Jade was worried at how red Joey's face was, she thought he was getting sick.
"That's... fine."
Drake did a fake cough "Alright then! Let's go! I'm starving!"
Jade grabbed Aloni's arm "And you're coming too."
"Oh, um I am? Well, no that's ok. I'm not hungry." She protested as jade dragged he her by force.
"You don't want to eat with us? Forget him-" Drake pushed Joey's face away, "You don't want to eat with me? You do know how popular I am, right?"
"Not very much." Joey laughed. Drake tried to slap the back of Joey's head, but Joey ducked. "Miss me!" Drake swapped again and got Joey's cheek. "OW!"
"HA!"
Jade rolled her eyes "You guys are so immature."
"Thank you!" they both said.
Aloni rolled her eyes and followed unwillingly with Jade.
While walking down the hall, Drake was saying hi to almost everyone they saw. Joey, who was a step lower than Drake on the pecking order, just rolled his eyes and flirted a little with Jade while Drake did his thing.
"What are we eating today?" Drake said when they entered the cafeteria.
Aloni kept quiet. She didn't feel like eating. Her stomach was all ready full of butterflies from being near ... Sighhhh Drake!!!
Boys... will be boys. They goofed off and ate junk food and did weird things during lunch. Until Shanelle came over to flirt with Drake.
"Hi Drake, so I hear that you and Natalie broke up. That's too bad" She helped herself to a seat.
"Nah, she's really needy. And I don’t care if you tell her I said that."
Shanelle smiled. "Oh that's ok, I won't. So who are you going to ask out now?"
"I thought you just broke up with Kenzy…?" Joey said with his mouth full.
"No, that was during the dance, I met Natalie right outside after the dance." Drake corrected Joey.
Aloni stiffled in a gasp of disappointment. She needed to hide these things. So instead she looked at Jade's food and popped an apple slice in her mouth, keeping her mouth occupied.
Drake shrugged, "I dunno."
Shanelle batted her eye lashes "Well If you need any help deciding, call me." She handed Drake a piece of paper with her number on it, then stood up and walked away.
"You should prank call her." Joey snickered.
Aloni kept a straight face. Chew, chew, chew, Swallow
Drake just shrugged and went back to eating.
"Are you actually gonna ask her out or prank call her?" Joey asked.
"I dunno."
"U gotta be kidding me, you’re gonna ask her out!"
"I said I don't know."
"Ok what ever..."
"You have to admit she's kind of cute."
"Not really..." Joey had his heart set on Jade.
Aloni bit her lip.
"Aw Joey, Then who do you like? Oh wait, I think I know." Jade teased.
"Y-y-you do?" Joey asked nervously.
"Sure I do." Jade played along. "... Ok I don't really, I just want to mess with ya." She smiled teasing like.
Aloni smiled with her.
Joey felt relief after Jade admitted she didn't know who he liked. "Oh, ok." Then he smiled along with her.
Aloni smiled at Joey’s relief. It was pretty obvious stuff that Joey liked Jade. But then her attention turned to Drake, and she felt like leaving.
"Hey, I'm not hungry, so I’m going to leave. See ya later Jade." Aloni stood up.
"You're leaving?" Drake asked.
"Uh, yeah." Aloni nodded once. "I'm Not hungry. So Bye."
"BUT-!" Drake called after her, but she already left. "What does she do when she leaves like that? Like where does she go?"
"Probably her uncle's office." Joey said.
Jade shook her head. "Only sometimes. She's just new and doesn't like going anywhere, but she usually goes back to her dorm. Sits on her bed and reads magazines. Sometimes. I'm not sure though. I'm not usually there."
